RACE-LAPS ENGINE ANALYSIS

ON-TRACK KART DYNO

Turn your kart data logger into an on-track engine dyno. Measure engine acceleration by RPM band, temperature and real-session conditions without relying on a single fastest lap.

Race-Laps uses the data already recorded by your logger to analyse how the engine performs across the session. Use the supported native file or guided export format for your logger and Race-Laps does the analysis in the cloud.

ENGINE PERFORMANCE — ON TRACK

MEASURE WHAT THE ENGINE IS ACTUALLY DOING.

A quickest lap can be influenced by traffic, a tow, cornering load, driver variation or changing track conditions. Race-Laps looks across the session and compares usable engine-performance data by rev band.

01

ACCELERATION BY RPM BAND

See how hard the kart accelerates through each rev range across the session, rather than judging the engine from one lap or one straight.

02

G-LOAD MATCHED DATA

Race-Laps matches comparable running conditions and filters unsuitable noise so the comparison is based on more representative engine-performance data.

03

% OF LAP BY REV BAND

Understand how much of the lap is actually spent in each RPM range, helping show which parts of the power curve matter most at that circuit.

04

ENGINE TEMPERATURE

Compare engine temperature across the session and by rev band to understand where the engine performs strongest.

05

AIR DENSITY + WEATHER

Put the engine result beside the session air density and weather conditions, with rain-radar context available in the Race-Laps workspace.

06

SESSION-LEVEL EVIDENCE

Compare changes using the whole usable session instead of making decisions from one isolated lap that may not represent the engine.

WHAT THE REPORT SHOWS

ENGINE ANALYSIS YOU CAN ACT ON.

Race-Laps converts logger data into a rev-band engine report so setup changes can be judged against measurable on-track performance.

TEST ENGINE CHANGES

CHANGE IT. RUN IT. MEASURE IT.

Whether you are tuning a Rotax or analysing another supported kart engine/logger combination, the objective is the same: measure the result of a change in real track conditions.

Make the change, run the session and compare the evidence across the RPM range instead of relying only on feel, one lap time or top speed.

LOGGER DATA

MYCHRON. ALFANO. UNIGO.

Race-Laps guides you to the correct supported native file or export format for the analysis workflow. You do not need to manually interpret multiple traces to get the engine result.

AiM

MYCHRON

Use the supported MyChron session file or guided export route for Race-Laps engine and driver analysis.

ALFANO

ALFANO

Use the supported Alfano session file or guided export route and let Race-Laps process the engine-performance data.

UNIPRO

UNIGO

Use the supported UniGo session file and Race-Laps can build the engine report from the recorded session data.

KART DYNO FAQ

COMMON QUESTIONS.

What is an on-track kart dyno?

An on-track kart dyno uses data recorded during real circuit running to analyse engine performance. Race-Laps compares acceleration through RPM bands, how much of the lap is spent in each band, engine temperature and session conditions.

Is this the same as a traditional engine dyno?

No. A conventional dyno measures an engine or vehicle under controlled test conditions. Race-Laps analyses performance from real on-track logger data, so the result is intended to complement rather than replace a conventional dyno.

Can I use MyChron data for kart engine analysis?

Yes, where the required channels are available in a supported MyChron file or export. Race-Laps guides you to the correct file format for the analysis workflow.

Can I use Alfano or UniGo data?

Yes, supported Alfano and UniGo session data can be used when the required data is present. Race-Laps guides the user to the correct native file or export route.

Can Race-Laps show whether a jetting change improved the engine?

Race-Laps can compare measurable session performance before and after a change, including acceleration by rev band and temperature context. That gives you evidence to judge whether the change improved the on-track result.

Why analyse the whole session instead of the fastest lap?

One lap may be affected by a tow, traffic, driver variation or track position. Looking across the usable session provides more evidence than relying on a single isolated lap.
