Race-Laps Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to your use of Race-Laps.com and any purchase, download, membership, coaching enquiry, coaching booking, contributor application, benchmark upload or other service made available through the Race-Laps platform.

Race-Laps is operated by Carbon Club. References in these Terms to “Race-Laps”, “we”, “us” or “our” mean Carbon Club and/or the Race-Laps platform. References to “you” or “your” mean the person using the website, buying digital content, applying as a contributor, booking coaching, uploading content or otherwise using our services.

By using Race-Laps.com, creating an account, purchasing digital content, joining Podium Membership, applying to the Elite Hub, uploading benchmark data or booking coaching, you agree to these Terms.

1. About Race-Laps

Race-Laps is a motorsport performance platform that allows drivers, parents, teams and coaches to access benchmark laps, telemetry data, onboard video, coaching resources and coaching opportunities.

The platform is designed to help users compare performance, understand where time is being gained or lost, and access insight from verified drivers, coaches and contributors.

Race-Laps may include:

  • benchmark lap data;
  • telemetry files;
  • onboard video;
  • brake trace and throttle trace information;
  • GPS racing line data;
  • circuit and class-specific performance references;
  • contributor profiles;
  • coach profiles;
  • coaching enquiries and bookings;
  • Podium Membership access;
  • Elite Hub contributor tools.

Race-Laps does not guarantee lap time improvement, race wins, championship results, qualification results, driver development outcomes, commercial success or sponsorship opportunities.

2. Eligibility and account use

You must provide accurate information when creating an account, purchasing products, applying as a contributor or booking coaching.

You are responsible for keeping your login details secure. You must not share your account access with another person, allow another person to download content through your account, or use another person’s account without permission.

We may suspend or terminate your account if we believe you have:

  • shared purchased digital content without permission;
  • attempted to resell or redistribute Race-Laps content;
  • uploaded content you do not own or have permission to use;
  • provided false or misleading information;
  • misused the platform;
  • acted abusively towards contributors, coaches, staff or other users;
  • breached these Terms.

3. Digital benchmark data and downloads

Race-Laps sells digital content including benchmark data, telemetry files, video, lap comparison resources and other digital motorsport performance materials.

Digital content is provided for personal performance analysis, education and driver development only.

When you purchase benchmark data or other digital content, you are buying a limited, personal, non-exclusive licence to use that content for your own analysis and development. You are not buying ownership of the content.

Unless expressly agreed in writing by Race-Laps, you must not:

  • copy, resell or redistribute purchased data;
  • upload purchased content to another platform;
  • share purchased files with another driver, team, coach or third party;
  • publish purchased data online;
  • use purchased files for commercial coaching unless you have written permission;
  • edit, repackage or rebrand purchased content for resale;
  • remove contributor details, branding, watermarks or file identifiers;
  • use purchased content to create a competing benchmark data product.

A single purchase is for the purchasing account holder only.

4. Digital download cancellation and refund position

Most Race-Laps products are digital downloads or digital content supplied shortly after purchase.

By purchasing digital content and choosing to access or download it immediately, you agree that digital supply begins immediately. You acknowledge that once the digital content has been accessed, downloaded or made available to you, you may lose your statutory right to cancel that purchase.

This does not affect your statutory rights where digital content is faulty, not as described, unavailable, corrupted, or where we have failed to provide the content you purchased.

Refunds are not normally provided where:

  • you have changed your mind after accessing or downloading the content;
  • you purchased the wrong benchmark by mistake;
  • the data does not produce the lap time improvement you hoped for;
  • the content is compatible with the listed format but not with your preferred analysis workflow;
  • you have already used, downloaded or accessed the files.

We may consider a refund or replacement where:

  • the wrong file has been supplied;
  • the file is corrupted and cannot be reasonably repaired or replaced;
  • the product description was materially incorrect;
  • the download was not made available due to a technical fault;
  • duplicate purchases were made accidentally and the duplicate file has not been accessed.

5. Accuracy of benchmark data

Race-Laps aims to list benchmark data accurately, including relevant details such as circuit, layout, class, lap time, contributor, logger type, file type and available traces.

However, motorsport data is affected by many variables including:

  • weather;
  • grip level;
  • tyre condition;
  • engine performance;
  • kart or vehicle setup;
  • driver weight;
  • fuel load;
  • traffic;
  • circuit layout changes;
  • equipment calibration;
  • logger accuracy;
  • class regulations;
  • mechanical condition.

Benchmark data is a reference point, not a guarantee. You are responsible for interpreting and applying any data safely and appropriately.

6. Motorsport risk disclaimer

Motorsport, karting, track driving and performance driving are inherently dangerous. Serious injury, death, vehicle damage and financial loss can occur.

Race-Laps content is provided for analysis and educational purposes only. It must not be treated as an instruction to drive beyond your ability, ignore safety rules, breach circuit regulations or take unnecessary risks.

You remain responsible for:

  • your own driving decisions;
  • your own vehicle or kart setup;
  • your own safety;
  • compliance with circuit, championship and team rules;
  • ensuring your equipment is suitable and safe;
  • deciding whether advice or data is appropriate for your ability and conditions.

Race-Laps is not liable for accidents, injuries, vehicle damage, penalties, exclusions, disqualifications, race results or losses arising from how you use benchmark data, coaching advice or platform content.

7. Podium Membership

Podium Membership may provide enhanced access, discounts, member-only benefits, increased purchase limits, early access, or other features described on the membership product page.

Membership benefits may change over time as the platform develops. We will aim to make any material changes clear.

Podium Membership is for the named account holder only. Membership access must not be shared.

Unless stated otherwise, membership does not guarantee:

  • unlimited free access to all future products;
  • coaching availability;
  • contributor availability;
  • specific benchmark files for every circuit or class;
  • race performance improvement;
  • permanent access to retired or removed content.

If Podium Membership is sold as a fixed-term membership, it will last for the period stated at the time of purchase.

If auto-renewal is introduced, renewal terms, cancellation options and renewal notices will be shown separately.

8. Coaching services

Race-Laps may allow users to find, contact or book coaches and verified contributors for online, simulator, data review, trackside or other coaching services.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, coaches and contributors are independent third parties and are not employees of Race-Laps.

Race-Laps may provide the platform, profile visibility, booking tools, payment tools or introductory process, but the coach is responsible for delivering the coaching service they agree to provide.

Coaching availability, format, price, location and scope may vary by coach.

You are responsible for checking:

  • the coach’s experience and profile;
  • the type of coaching being booked;
  • the location and timing;
  • whether circuit entry, testing fees or team fees are included;
  • whether equipment, kart, car, simulator or data logger access is required;
  • any cancellation terms shown at booking.

Race-Laps does not guarantee that coaching will result in faster lap times, race wins, improved championship performance or any specific outcome.

9. Junior drivers and safeguarding

Race-Laps may allow coaching involving junior drivers.

Where a coach offers coaching to under-18s, additional safeguarding checks may be required, including DBS checks where appropriate.

Parents or guardians are responsible for ensuring that junior drivers are supervised appropriately and that any coaching arrangement is suitable.

A parent, guardian or responsible adult should be present for junior coaching unless expressly agreed otherwise and appropriate safeguards are in place.

Race-Laps may suspend or remove a coach profile if safeguarding information is missing, expired, inaccurate or gives cause for concern.

10. Contributor and Elite Hub applications

Drivers, coaches, teams and other motorsport professionals may apply to become verified contributors through the Race-Laps Elite Hub.

Approval is not automatic. Race-Laps may review:

  • racing background;
  • coaching background;
  • championship results;
  • references;
  • data quality;
  • uploaded file quality;
  • suitability for the platform;
  • safeguarding information where relevant;
  • professionalism and conduct.

Race-Laps may approve, reject, suspend or remove contributor access at its discretion.

Approval as a contributor does not create employment, partnership, agency or joint venture between you and Race-Laps.

11. Contributor uploads and ownership

If you upload benchmark data, telemetry, video, images, descriptions, coaching content or any other material, you confirm that:

  • you own the content or have permission to upload and commercialise it;
  • the content does not infringe another person’s rights;
  • the content does not breach team, championship, driver, sponsor, manufacturer or circuit restrictions;
  • the content is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
  • you have not included confidential, restricted or prohibited material;
  • you have the right to grant Race-Laps the licence set out below.

You grant Race-Laps a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, display, promote, sell, distribute and deliver your uploaded content through the Race-Laps platform.

You remain the owner of your own original content, subject to the rights you grant to Race-Laps and buyers under these Terms.

Race-Laps may remove or refuse uploaded content if we believe it is unsuitable, inaccurate, low quality, misleading, unlawful, infringing or damaging to the platform.

12. Contributor earnings

Where Race-Laps offers contributor revenue share, the applicable percentage, payment cycle and payout method will be shown on the platform or agreed separately.

Unless otherwise stated, Race-Laps currently intends to pay approved contributors a percentage of net revenue from eligible sales of their approved digital content or coaching products.

Net revenue may exclude VAT, refunds, chargebacks, payment processing fees, platform fees, discounts, taxes or other deductions where applicable.

Contributors are responsible for:

  • providing correct payout details;
  • declaring and paying their own tax;
  • issuing invoices where required;
  • complying with any legal or accounting obligations that apply to them.

Race-Laps may withhold or reverse contributor payments where there is suspected fraud, refund activity, chargebacks, ownership disputes, breach of these Terms, or an unresolved complaint.

13. Intellectual property

The Race-Laps name, Carbon Club name, logos, branding, website design, text, graphics, layouts, platform structure, product pages and related materials are owned by or licensed to Race-Laps and Carbon Club.

You must not copy, reproduce, scrape, clone, imitate, reverse engineer or use Race-Laps branding or platform materials without written permission.

Purchased digital content remains protected by intellectual property rights. Buying a product does not give you the right to resell, redistribute or publicly share it.

14. User conduct

You must not use Race-Laps to:

  • upload unlawful, offensive, abusive or misleading content;
  • harass contributors, coaches, staff or users;
  • scrape data or content from the website;
  • attempt to bypass purchase limits or membership restrictions;
  • reverse engineer files or platform functionality;
  • interfere with the security or operation of the website;
  • make false claims about results, credentials or coaching ability;
  • use the platform in a way that damages Race-Laps, Carbon Club, contributors or users.

15. Product availability and platform changes

Race-Laps is a developing platform. We may change, improve, suspend or remove features, products, categories, membership benefits, contributor tools or website functionality over time.

We may remove benchmark data or contributor profiles where:

  • content is outdated;
  • rights are disputed;
  • a contributor requests removal;
  • content quality is not sufficient;
  • regulatory, legal, safeguarding or platform concerns arise;
  • the content no longer fits the platform.

Where you have already purchased digital content, we will aim to maintain reasonable access where possible, but we cannot guarantee permanent lifetime hosting of every file.

You should download and safely store purchased files after purchase.

16. Pricing and payment

Prices are shown on the website at the time of purchase.

We may change prices at any time, but this will not affect purchases already completed.

Payments are processed through third-party payment providers. Race-Laps does not store full card details.

If a payment is reversed, disputed, charged back or suspected to be fraudulent, we may suspend access to the relevant order, account or downloaded content.

17. VAT and taxes

Prices may include or exclude VAT depending on how the website is configured and what is shown at checkout.

Contributors are responsible for their own tax affairs in relation to any revenue received from Race-Laps.

18. Third-party tools and links

Race-Laps may refer to third-party products, data loggers, analysis tools, circuits, championships, teams, payment providers or external websites.

References to third parties do not mean Race-Laps controls or endorses them.

We are not responsible for third-party websites, services, software, payment systems, logger compatibility issues or external content.

19. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any statutory rights that cannot be excluded.

Subject to that, Race-Laps is not liable for:

  • racing incidents;
  • personal injury arising from motorsport participation;
  • vehicle, kart, engine or equipment damage;
  • loss of race results, points, trophies or championship positions;
  • loss of sponsorship;
  • loss of profit;
  • loss of opportunity;
  • indirect or consequential loss;
  • data interpretation errors;
  • user misuse of downloaded content;
  • coaching outcomes;
  • third-party coach conduct;
  • technical issues outside our reasonable control.

Our total liability for any claim relating to a purchased product will not exceed the amount paid by you for that product, unless the law requires otherwise.

20. Consumer rights

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

If you are buying as a consumer, you may have legal rights in relation to digital content, services, cancellation, refunds and faulty products.

Where there is a conflict between these Terms and rights that cannot legally be excluded, your statutory rights will apply.

21. Privacy and data protection

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

You should read our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, store and protect personal information.

22. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

The version published on Race-Laps.com at the time of your purchase, upload, application or booking will apply to that transaction or activity unless changes are required by law or relate to ongoing platform use.

23. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, except where consumer protection law gives you the right to bring a claim in another part of the United Kingdom.
