Race-Laps User Guidelines

Race-Laps exists to help drivers improve through verified benchmark data, telemetry, video, coaching and contributor insight.

These User Guidelines explain how buyers, drivers, parents, coaches and contributors should use the platform.

They sit alongside our Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy and Digital Download Policy.

1. Use Race-Laps fairly

Race-Laps is built around trust.

You must not:

  • share purchased benchmark files with others;
  • resell downloaded data;
  • upload Race-Laps files to another platform;
  • publish paid content online;
  • use another person’s account;
  • try to bypass purchase limits or membership rules;
  • copy contributor content without permission.

Benchmark data is for your own personal performance analysis unless Race-Laps has given written permission for another use.

2. Respect contributors and coaches

Race-Laps contributors and coaches are verified drivers, coaches, teams or motorsport professionals.

Please treat them professionally.

You must not:

  • abuse, harass or pressure contributors;
  • make unreasonable demands outside the product or booking scope;
  • publicly criticise a contributor without first raising the issue properly;
  • ask contributors to share unpaid files or private data;
  • misuse contact details obtained through Race-Laps.

3. Use benchmark data responsibly

Race-Laps benchmark data is designed to help you understand performance.

It is not an instruction to drive beyond your ability.

You remain responsible for:

  • your own driving decisions;
  • safety on track;
  • following circuit rules;
  • following championship rules;
  • maintaining your kart, car or equipment;
  • judging whether advice is suitable for your ability and conditions.

Motorsport is dangerous. Use data to improve intelligently, not recklessly.

4. Check before you buy

Before buying benchmark data, check:

  • circuit;
  • layout;
  • class;
  • lap time;
  • data logger type;
  • file type;
  • whether video is included;
  • whether brake trace is included;
  • whether throttle trace is included;
  • any other product notes.

If you are unsure whether a file is right for you, ask before purchase.

5. Parents and junior drivers

Parents or guardians are responsible for supervising junior drivers using Race-Laps.

For junior coaching, a parent, guardian or responsible adult should normally be present unless otherwise agreed and appropriate safeguards are in place.

Race-Laps may require additional safeguarding checks for coaches working with under-18s.

6. Contributor standards

If you apply to become a Race-Laps contributor, you must provide accurate information about your experience, results and credentials.

If you upload benchmark data, video, images or coaching content, you confirm that:

  • you own it or have permission to use and sell it;
  • it is not confidential or restricted;
  • it does not breach team, sponsor, circuit or championship rules;
  • it is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
  • it meets the quality expected by Race-Laps buyers.

Race-Laps may review, reject, remove or suspend content that does not meet platform standards.

7. Coaching standards

Coaches listed on Race-Laps should act professionally, safely and honestly.

Coaches should:

  • be clear about what is included in a session;
  • keep communication professional;
  • respect junior safeguarding requirements;
  • avoid making unrealistic performance promises;
  • deliver the agreed service;
  • tell Race-Laps if their credentials, availability or DBS status changes.

Race-Laps may remove coach access where conduct, safety, safeguarding or quality concerns arise.

8. Reviews and feedback

Feedback should be honest, fair and based on a real purchase or coaching experience.

You must not post reviews that are:

  • abusive;
  • false;
  • misleading;
  • discriminatory;
  • threatening;
  • commercially motivated;
  • posted to damage a competitor unfairly.

Race-Laps may moderate or remove reviews that breach these guidelines.

9. Account suspension

Race-Laps may suspend or remove access if a user:

  • shares or resells paid content;
  • uploads content without permission;
  • provides false information;
  • behaves abusively;
  • breaches safeguarding expectations;
  • misuses the platform;
  • breaches the Terms & Conditions.
